About 400 Words

400 Words is a storytelling project. It is a print magazine and a website, consisting of true stories, none over 400 words, by ordinary people on assigned themes. It's about the documentation of everyday life, saying a lot by saying a little. You can learn more, or order a copy, or tell a story of your own.

The Work Issue: Wrapping it Up

Our almost-year of Studs Terkeldom has to come to an end sometime. Luckily, it’s going to culminate in the release of 400 Words, Issue 3—the Work issue.

But before that can happen, I have to catch up with all the incredible stories you’ve sent. So: the last day for submitting pieces for the Work issue will be Sunday, July 1.

If you’ve been thinking about sending something in, I hope you do.

As always, there’s no expiration date on 400-word-autobiography submissions. I accept those 24-7-365.

Visit the submissions page.
